  • HEAVEN, HELL... EARTH on DVD. The successful film written and directed by Laura Sivakova can be purchased in the Artforum retail chain. Laura Sivakova is currently finishing writing her new film TOWN OF OTOL with Biba Bohinska.
  • NICKY´S FAMILY – film by Patrik Pašš and Matej Mináč had its world premiere on January 20, 2011 in the Congress Center in Prague. Sir Nicholas Winton, his son Nick, daughter Barbara and grandson Laurence and 16 out of 669 saved children were also present. Over 7000 viewers saw the film in two packed showings. In the morning, 3500 students from all over the Czech republic, many of whom were active participants in the school project Lottery of Life, greeted Nicky Winton with hand-painted banners and a long standing ovation. In the evening, numerous important political and cultural personalities attended the event, including: former president Vaclav Havel, minister of foreign affairs Karel Schwarzenberg, minister of defense Alexander Vondra and many others. Slovak viewers will be able to see the film in theaters in June 2011. A gala premiere under the auspices of Slovak Prime Minister Iveta Radičová will take place on June 15 in the historical building of the National Theater.

  • The Power of Good - the film produced by Patrik Pass and directed by Matej Minac that has won the International EMMY AWARD and other prestigious awards, was released by HBO and included into its library this year. The film about a unique rescue mission that saved 669 children from pre-war Czechoslovakia is thus widely available for sale around the world.
  • MY FATHER GULAG successful in Poland. A  documentary by Frantisek Palonder – was awarded the best international film from 98 screened documentaries at the international documentary film festival in Poznan. The director prepares these days the new documentary tittled Baluďanský.
  • THE OPTIMIST (aka WINTER)  in Israel. Dusan Trancik’s film „The Optimist“ is travelling successfully through film festivals. After Wardaw and Cesky Tesin, audiences will be able to see the film in Zwierzyniec,Poland and Ashkelon, Israel.
  • SNAPSHOTS on DVD is successfuly sold by the books shops red Artforum.
  • Slivka book. The book „A Man Remains“ introduces an important figure of Slovak documentary film and ethnography – Martin Slivka. TRIGON PRODUCTION published it in co-operation with the Slovak Film Institute, University of Performing Arts (VSMU) and with support from the Ministry of Culture of the Slovak Republic and the Slovak Literary Fund. It was introduced to the public by its authors during the international film festival Art Film Fest and it was also presented at the Summer Film School in Uherske Hradiste.  You can purchase the book at the Slovak Film Institute bookshop on Groesslingova street in Bratislava. Soon, it will also be sold in the book chain Pantha Rei and Art Forum.                  
  • When WAR GAMES  ?  Documentary film co-produced with the Polish production company APPLE FILM PRODUCTION and directed by Dariusz Jablonski, War Games, had a Czech premiere in Prague on June 18. Slovak premiere is planned for the end of this year.
  • A young music composer Vladimir Martinka is working together with other famous Slovak composer Vaso Patejdl on a score to the new comedy  THE CORPSE MUST DIE. The premiere is planned for January 2010.
  • After broadcasting its 42nd episode, the first season of the documentary series  GEN.sk officially ended in June. The series started broatcasting on STV2 in May 2008. Currently, preparations for the second season are already in progress, it should go on air in January 2010. The episodes will introduce successful Slovaks, including the ones living abroad. One of the first episodes will be Miro Zbirka, directed by Juraj Jakubisko.
  • OLD TOWN CRIME TALES  before its first shot. The original TV series Old Town Crime Tales will start shooting in the streets of Bratislava in September of this year. It is being created in co-production with the Czech and Slovak TV. The main characters will be played by Zuzana Fialova and Milan Lasica. Other roles are now being cast by casting agencies, but it planned that numerous roles will be played by legends of Czech and Slovak film.  The first 7 episodes of the series should premiere on TV screens in October 2010.
